Sea World San Diego

Meghan and Sarah are out visiting this week and we are having a great time! Sarah got in on Wednesday and Meghan got here in Thursday. Meghan rallied with her jet lag on friday and like a true trooper headed down to San Diego with us to go watch some Shamu! Matt met us down there after his morning meeting and we spent the day expanding our knowledge about marine life. Sarah suggested we feed the stingrays without fully understanding just what that entailed, and when I came back with a little tray of fish heads she second-guessed that activity! But the stingrays got fed and Lexi loved feeding the ducks at the next stop! We saw the Shamu show, smelled the stinky clydesdales, watched the dolphins jump and the crowning glory of the day was by far the pet show! Alexis was enthralled with the cats dogs and pigs running across stage leaping and flipping. She laughed out loud and cheered for the doggies! We enjoyed the beer stands as well as the shows and sesame street rides, fun for all ages! We all got fun-passes so we can go back any time for the rest of the year so we will be sure to take full advantage of that!!

OREOSSSSSS

Alexis has had her first adventure into "Milk's favorite cookie" and it was a slam dunk! she loved them, not that I am surprised she is My child. she made a gigantic mess and loved her oreo mustache. yummm yummm all this cookie talk is making me hungry I think Mommy is going to go have one.

Bed-head

Nothing like a little baby-bedhead to start out your day and week! This is the adorable sight I get the pleasure of viewing every morning. Alexis got the curse of my Ultra Fine hair and some curly on top of that, J&J No More Tangles is going to be our bestfriend in a few years when it really starts growing, but until then I will just sit back and take her picture for embarassment later in life, hee heehee

thhhbbbtttt

welcome back computer!

After almost four weeks without my computer, the powers that be at Best Buy have decided to bestow my belongings back onto me. HAPPY DANCE!!! Since I've been absent from the wonderful world of blogging we have had a great time. The weather is starting to warm up. It is in the 70's this week, love it! Lexi and I also took a trip east to Florida for a visit with family and Shamu! It was a great trip. We went to Sea World in Orlando and Alexis discovered a new found love for giant sea mammals. She was wide-eyed and opened-mouthed through the whole Shamu show and was so excited to wtch the dolphin and birds. She had a great time visiting with Poppy, Maude, Uncle Ian and Aunt Ro... oh and of course Kudja. Her obsession with doggies reached a new height after spending a week with Kudja. She is still asking for the doggie everytime she wakes up from a nap or gets out of her crib in the morning. I think our pet-free days are numbered. We will hold off as long as possible by distracting her with her fish, Stew. that would be a fish named Stew... not fishstew. ew. alright that is all for now I am going to go outside with Alexis and enjoy this beyootiful weather!

play-doh cannon

Alexis has THE FUNNIEST LAUGH EVER. She throws her entire being into letting us know she is entertained and I love it! She really cracks me up. Matt combined her new favorite toy (play-doh) and her love of getting things thrown at her (I know, weird right?) and had us all cracking up because of her response. When she finds something funny there is no stopping her. I will take the blame for this one. I sometimes have been known to laugh in extreme excess at things that are just sort of funny, for hours. Poor girl better get over it or she is going to find herself sitting on the floor making fishy faces to try and stop the laughter, which lets be honest, only makes the laughter explode out!

Wash Me

Matt and Alexis broke into the magic markers while I was in the shower and Lexi got a little tattoo. Doesn't she spell upside down really well? Matt wrote the same message on the truck a few weeks ago, I obviously married him for his maturity hahaha!

Nanner-Puss

Lexi's new obsession is the Denny's Nanner-puss commercial. She loves it, we sing Puss while we change diapers and everytime I am on my computer she tries to comandeer it to watch Puss... and in answer to Denny's question, Alexis says No it is NOT time for a serious breakfast.

MINE!

Well I guess all you can do is delay the inevitable, try as hard as you might but you just can't prevent it. Alexis' new favorite word is "MINE!". Not mine or even Mine... no it is MINE! It is forcible and angry and it is my new least favorite word. Matt and I tried very hard not to use that word in front of her, we said Mommy's or Daddy's or Lexi's but we tried to refrain from using mine. I honestly don't know where she picked it up from or how she mastered the meaning of it when she still doesn't seem to understand the word no when it comes out of my mouth. Odd how she knows what it means when she is saying it to me...

Here are some pictures of my sassy little girl trying to weasel a way to bring both her pacies after I told her she didn't need 2 to help mommy get the laundry.

TGIF

Happy Friday!!! Alexis and I had a big week, 2 playdates, a music class and a couple trips to the park! We were going to try a new story time because the story lady at our other story time is evil, but when we got to the new library there was no parking. Not one space open! So we went around the corner and found a new playground which was fun. We also had a couple playdates and as always I am singing the praises of her music class. That class was the best thing I have ever done with her. She loves the interaction with the other kids her age and the singing and dancing. I love watching her eyes light up as she plays with the colorful scarves and maracas and everything in our apartment has now turned into a drum thanks to the class. She just loves it and I just love going there with her every week!

Tonight we are having Matt's friend from work and his girlfriend over for dinner so I am obviously procrastinating cooking by blogging. Keith and Stephanie are such a nice couple and hopefully they will survive my cooking so we can get together with them again sometime. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I cook everything thoroughly and don't send anyone to the bathroom with food poisoning tonight. haha. well I guess I should get cracking. Here are some pictures of Alexis helping me clean today for our company. She was great at cleaning Elmo her stuffed pig and her book. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Seriously?!

A few months ago I was completely flabbergasted when Michelle Duggar had her 426th child, little did I know that this little gem would come out of the woodwork and completely blow Michelle and her rabbit-reproduction out of the water.

A woman who lives a little further north of us, by L.A., had octuplets (yes 8 babies at once). Now when I first heard about this I thought, good for her, it was very obvious to me that she had used in-vitro and I am all about using the medicinal miracles of today to make things happen that otherwise would not be possible. Well the excitement around this woman kept building and she kept herself out of the spotlight, not subjecting her 3 day old babies to Today show interviews and sattelite broadcasting, although the doctors who delivered them couldn't get enough of the spotlight. They called a press conference everytime one of the babies sneezed! Anyway I thought it was great how she was trying to keep the spotlight off and attempt some semblance of a normal life. Well turns out she was not giving interviews because she is a complete and total nutjob and didn't want the whole of the country in on her purple elephant and rainbows life.

As it turns out this woman is under 35, single and already has 6 more children under the age of 7 at home. 6 UNDER THE AGE OF 7. I have one child and have already had to stop writing 4 times(I've been keeping track) to deal with one thing or the other. How is she going to take care of her litter? She got pregnant through a sperm donor and lives with her parents in a 2 bedroom house. Now I can't decide if this woman is completely bonkers or just totally irresponsible. Right now I am leaning heavily toward bonkers, very heavily. Her mother has all but told the press her daughter belongs in the looney bin and her father is jumping ship to Iraq. The man would rather go to a war torn country to find work than deal with 14 kids in his 2 bedroom house, and all I have to say about that is he must be the smartest one in that entire family. If his wife has any smarts she will be packing up her personal air-conditioner an heading east with her escaping husband.

Now the news hasn't said anything about her being on welfare which I am sure that they would have jumped all over if that was the case. So on the upside maybe we won't be paying for her kids, who knows maybe TLC will have a new John and Kate plus 8. They could call it One Psycho plus 14 Tyke-o's (I know I know I was stretching for a rhyme, I'm sure the masterminds at TLC will come up with something catchier- and more P.C.) She has hired a publicist to speak for her and the P.R. lady has released statements saying that they have tons of offers for book deals and other money making options, and you know the whole country will eat up the crazy pudding by the gallon and this crazy lady will soon be known to the world as a strong-willed eccentric single mother because if her Public Relations lady is worth anything she is going to make her into the next Virgin Mary. I can see it now, "Yes, folks, Not only does this amazing woman raise 14 kids by herself but she is a virgin and she can spin gold out of straw, GOLD. She will be meeting with President Obama next week to discuss the economy. No questions at this time." Mark my words we are appalled now but by this time next year she will be running for a government position, because that is where all the truly delusional end up.

Yes the crazies are outnumbering the sane people of the world (14 at a time).

A Smile for Daddy

Matt had a tough day at work today, then he made late plans to drive up to Los Angeles at the tail end of rush hour to meet with someone for dinner by LAX so this post is just for him. He missed Alexis' bath escapades tonight so I styled her hair up nice and took pictures like the wonderful embarassing mother that I am heeheehee

weekend fun!

I love where we live! I can't get over it that it is the beginning of February and we are spending our weekends on the beach! Alexis and I brought Matt to Jump N Jammin this weekend. It is an indoor baby superland and I don't know who had more fun, Alexis or Matt! Matt found the guns that you can fire little nerf balls at the unsuspecting kids and parents below and I think some kids walked out of that ball pit scarred for life, haha. It's funny how all the dads that were at Jump n Jammin yesterday gravitated towards the combative ball pit. Lexi climbed and slid and jumped and had frozen yogurt and had a great time! We decided to take the scenic route home and stopped at Laguna Beach to watch the sunset and explore a little. Matt found tide pools filled with sea creatures and Alexis found a playground in the sand shaped like a boat so all in all it was a succesful day! Weekends make me so happy, I love when we do things as a family and can really spend time enjoying each other's company! Today we are taking it easy and watching the superbowl from our apartment, Go Cardinals!!
